I haven't been able to make it to the gym more than once a week. Hopefully I will be able to get a bike so I can go to the gym whenever, AND get a workout going to and from!
I need to get to the gym more often. It helps with my stress, and it makes me feel less helpless. I recently went through a situation where thats how I felt, and it was scary. I need to make sure I can defend myself, and getting into shape is part of it. I think it is anyway.
I'm still trying. I'm not giving up.

This has been a bad week. I haven't made it to the gym at all 😳
My back hurts like hell. I don't want to agrivate it. But I feel like I'm failing. I'm not going to be able to reach my goals if I don't go to the gym. I'm wasting money if I don't go to the gym.
Ibuprofen and Tylenol seem to help a little, but that's before I work out.
If anyone has any tips for working out with back pain please let me know. I want to go to gym, but I don't want to be in constant pain. Soreness I can deal with. Pain like this... it's hard.
But this blog is about my journey. The whole journey, including the bad.

I didn't get to go to the gym today due to transportation issues. But I was good about my diet. I had left over homemade oriental chicken salad for lunch, and a side salad with my dinner.
According to Loose It, I am 1 calorie under today ^.^
I've been thinking about joining the Air Force. Another reason for me to get in shape. Also, family tradition is always cool. My Grandfather was in the USAF at the end of WWII. My uncle did his 4 years. My Dad was in for the 1st 8 years of my life. I just recently attended my brother's graduation from basic in April. While my dad was in the military, life was pretty good.
I'm at the point where I don't know what to do with the rest of my life. My job is awesome, but it won't get me to where I want to be financially. Logan has a better idea of what he wants to do with his life. He could go to school and get his degree. We don't have kids, we have minimal(ish) debt, so why not see the world while carrying on an awesome family tradition?
I'm looking at a few different jobs. Mental Health Service, and Weather Specialist. Ever since before I graduated high school I've been interested in psychology. I've also been fascinated with the weather and didn't even know that was an option in the USAF!
This is now a major goal of mine. One of the main reasons I'm trying to get in shape. I'm so proud of my brother for making it through BMT, he's inspired me to try it for myself!
For now though, I'm just trying to get healthy and fit!

My Fitness Journey
I'm starting this blog so I can keep myself motivated. Hold myself responsible for the choices I make to get to my goals.
My goal? To be healthy. To not be self conscious about my body. To feel good.
I started going to the gym (Crunch) in February 2014. Since then I have not lost any pounds, but I've lost inches. I've been gaining muscle, which I would rather have than flab.
My work out consists of 30ish minutes of cardio, then 30ish minutes of weights. I go about 2-3 days a week depending on the week.
I'm trying to be good about my diet. I track my food/exercise using the Loose It app on my phone. Before I decided to loose weight, I didn't eat very many vegetables, and I had tons of carbs. I'm doing better trying to add more veggies to my diet. I have a salad every day for lunch.
This is what my blog is about. Me. Trying.
Maybe seeing me try will help you try too?
